There are 2 the thank you to do this one million. drill some quarter inch hollow and use a hand metallic punch ( used in electronics's), or drill a hollow and use a particular bit you will get a Lowe's between different places, the bit is spoke of as a "Christmas Tree Bit",as others have stated pass sluggish and use slightly oil to maintain issues from heating up.

Masonry bit the same size as the anchors you'll insert into the brick. The bolts of the base will go into the anchors.

You can use an electric drill and some mason bits or you could go the route of SDS rotary hammer or hammer drill. Both of these have their own special bits but they are ment for drilling into harder surfaces such as cement, concrete, and mortar.

A good quality electric drill. And some masonary bits, don't use the ones for wood, they'll just break.

Others are correct. I just did a job this week that involved drilling into Brick, 150 years old. I used "tapcon" bits, another form of bit, and hex head screws.
