If You have a picture frame, you can use foam core board or balsa wood to make the box.
cut one piece of foam core board the size of that slot the photo slides in, just about the same size as the glass in the frame.
Cut four pieces of the same foam core board of equal widths, this is the depth of the box., and the lengths needed to fit in the slotted frame edge.
assemble the sides of the box and glue and use straight pins to hold it till it dries. Put the sides into the slotted edge with glue and tape till dry.
You can decorate the inside edges with fabric, trims or paper. Add your stuff and then seal it all in by attaching the foam core rectangle you cut first as the back. glue tape, pin, secure and its ready.

you need a piece of wood wide enough to hold the glass out from the backing to a depth so that the items arent touching the glass, then you need to make that wood into a box shape frame with a routed groove for the glass on the front edge. then arrange your items on the backing as you want them and glue the mounting board to the frame boards. or just buy a shadowbox frame at michaels.
