For example, if I were to ask "What makes you unique?" For sure atleast one person will say something along the lines of "everyone is unique" or "No two people are the same so everyone is different."

So I was just wondering why some people take everything so serious or literal. Most of the questions on here aren't serious questions anyways so why take them that way

Maybe they err on the side of caution. Nothing worse than giving a silly flippant answer and then finding out the person was serious. It's too bad there isn't some way to indicate the question is tongue in cheek.

I see you are winking in your picture.
My answers vary depending on how serious I think the person asking the question is.
If I'm in error, either I should have paid more attention while reading the question, (and I rarely bother to answer at all if I'm not willing to take the appropriate time and care to answer seriously) or, the person asking the question miss-communicated their intentions.

because people are strange. honestly, i was wondering the same thing. its like you have to word things so carefully in order for people to understand. god forbid you make a general statement about something ( like say all people are stupid, not that ive done that) and everyone goes crazy. people need to get off their high horses. as if theyve never judged or stereotyped.
