there a lot of people that have been compared to jordan. vince carter kobe lebron t-mac but they are all lacking not the talent of athelticism they are missing the things that can not be bred taught or inherited. they are michaels wil and his ability to make others better. nobody ever in the history of sports has had the grit determination that michael has. he was the hardest working athlete ever. you combine that with an ultimate combination of athleticism strength overpowering talent and skill and you have the greatest athelete ever. there is a reason there is a saying"... is the michael jordan of...". the closest we have right now is kobe. kobe might even have more talent than mj. he can make tough shots and do amazing things. but mj knew when to shoot when to pass when to get on his teammates and when to let them grow. mj is a one of a kind and there will never be anybody like him again. all we have know is the expression is "... is not michael, but he is the next best thing".

For a player to be considered the next Jordan he has to be able to will their team. That player has to be a leader and wants to have all of the pressure fall on him. The next Jordan has to be confident, a good team player, and have thick skin. I think one player has all of those qualities. Kobe Bryant played at a high level while going through the sexual assualt trial. He endured the boos and death threats in Denver and everywhere else he played. He's hit many game winners and played extremely well on a bad knee part of the 04 season and playoffs.

They would need the NBA to be handed to them on a silver platter just as MJ and Bird did for Jordan. They would need to be the most marketed player in the NBA. They would have to be one of the best of all time. Lebron already has 2 of those now it's up to him to win.

They will need to recieve the:
League MVP,
AllStar MVP,
Defensive title,
Scoring title,
League championship title,
and rank amoung the top 10 in both assists and rebounds amoung their position
ALL IN ONE YEAR!!!!
We can talk all day about winning 6 championships, but until you can do it all at the same time, and not let another aspect of the game suffer, your no closer than you were before.... (Example: Kobes passing.)

1) Lead thier team to 3 titles before the age that Mike got his first.
2) Be first team all NBA team and first all defensive team several times
3) Have several unbelievable scoring games
hold on I think I know someone that's already achieved all of that.
I think you do as well... so why is it so hard for the media to crown him the true "King"
We should be asking who is the next Kobe by now!!

Alot. they always say that when someone "great" enters but they will just about never be as good as MJ. To be the next MJ you have to be able to make any shot on the court.
