Perhaps, as a male, I should be the last one to respond to your question but your sadness touched me. I have no idea of what you are going through but I have shared the grief of a miscarriage with my spouse. It must be one of the most gut-wrenching experiences a woman can have. My heart goes out to you.
Your questions might be best answered by an ob/gyn and I hope you have a good one. I think female doctors are better in these situations unless your doctor is very compassionate.
I hope you are able to have the child you want. After trying so hard your child will be cherished and have a great, loving mom.

I have had 2 miscarriages. The first time I started bleeding lightly at 7 weeks and had a scan at 9 weeks and they said the baby only measured 5 weeks. I passed it out a week later (complete miscarriage)The second time was a missed miscarriage. I had a routine scan at 9 weeks and they could not detect a heartbeat. They said it only measured 7-8 weeks. I had a d&c the next day. There is a risk of infection if it is left in too long which could lead to other problems. It took 5 weeks for the baby to come out the first time. You will know if you have passed it out. You get bad cramps similar to severe period pain and I passed a lot of blood clots first. I was given a scan once the baby passed to make sure the miscarriage was complete. When I had the d&c after the missed miscarriage it was over a lot quicker. Emotionally they were both difficult times. I was in hospital for 5 days after the natural miscarriage and had to be put on antibiotics because of an infection. I was in for day surgery when I had the d&c. I understand how devastating miscarriage can be especially when it has taken so long to concieve. Give your body and soul time to heal. I have always been a firm believer in things happening for a reason. I was blessed inbetween the miscarriages, I have identical twin girls who are almost 4. I'm sure you will be blessed too. My thoughts are with you and if you ever need to talk you can contact me either by email or messenger.

Sweetie, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Sometimes they will pass away naturally but most times need medical intervention ie the D + C to ensure that your womb is clear of tissue. I have had 4 miscarraiges over the past 16 years and with 3 I had to have a D+C. The other passed naturaly but I felt this was worse trhan having the op. I had labour pains and no assistance from the medical team and it is an experience that I will never forget. I was left on my own to let the baby pass and I pray no one else has to suffer this. Again I'm sorry for your loss. I wish you all the best. Take care and good luck in the future. xxxx

Am so sorry to hear about your loss.

I have had 3 miscarriages and two D&C's. Dont worry all will be fine, you will know all has been passed out when you stop bleeding about 1 week later.

I wish you all the best with your next pregnancy.

Please dont give up and try again as soon as you feel ready for it.

xxxxx

sorry to hear that..

when i started bleeding i had to go back the next week to make sure the embryo wasnt developing as it was only about 6 weeks in size, i knew it should of been 10 weeks so i knew i was miscarring.. anyway a few days later before i went back to hospital it went naturally..

basically i felt i had wet myself.. rushed ot the loo and there was so much blood and lumps.. and yes one fo the lumps was the sac.. it is not very nice..
i had to have a scan a few days later to make sure everything had passed and it had..

oh and also i was 10 yrs trying.. after m/c i was pregnant again in 4 months.. and my son is now 4 months old :D
there is always hope.. so good luck :D

I am so sorry for you and your bf/hubby. You will bleed alot and only until they scan you they will notice if the foetus has gone if not they will take you down for a d&c. Do you want to pass it naturly? it is heart breaking to see even tho its only 12 weeks old.

My sister had the same happen with her first at 10 weeks. But don't worry too much; she went on to have two beautiful sons. The doctors will advise you on whats best and take care of you. Don't give up hope.
