What is the problem, and how can I fix this?

You have to install the software for the phone first before you plug it in. If a CD did not come with your phone then go to the phone's website and download it from there.

Most phones have a disc to insert with the data cable. If you dont have the disc it may not work properly. I have a samsung and i had insert the disc and install the active sync program before it worked properly.

depends on your computer. Make sure the connection is active. After that, make sure your phone card is active, under your settings and connection you are connecting via usb and memory card. And no, you don't need to preinstall software.

1. insert the data Cd
2. install the driver
3. Install motolola phone tools
Now run the phone tools and do what you need.
