my LeSabre starts to shake only when I go over 65 mph (not really hard but enough that I can feel the vibrations), by 75mph the the vibrations are worse -- there is never any rattling sound though, the car just shakes

It is probably your tires being out of ballance. If you had your tires installed at a discount tire shop, they probably ballanced them for speeds below 55. I know it sounds silly, but go to your local shop that only does tires, they can do a high speed ballance for you. You might also check by hand the sidewall of each tire, back side and front side. If you have hit a curb or pothole hard enough, it could have broken the sidewall steel belts, there will be a bubble if this has happened. It will cause an inballance that usually shows up around 65, then goes away at 70. It is more common than you would think. If you do have a bubble, put on the spare, dont drive on that tire and get it changed. You WILL have a blow out at anytime with broken sidewall belts.

Take the car to an reliable mechanic, to analyze the problem it may be either the engine or the transmission.

the car may be off balance. it could be the camber angle of the wheels. it could also be the tire wear patterns. if it is an old car perhaps you should have it inspected.
