To me he is more of a Magic Johnson. He is always looking for the open guy and trying to get his teammates involved. He is not a selfish player at all. He doesn't have that killer instinct like Jordan I think!

Alright, Alright. He's not the next Jordan but he isn't overrated. I also think Kobe is the closest to Jordan. It's been said for years. As for Lebron, he will be a great player when he learns how to close out and hit big shots. Let's settle down people. I know Cleveland's down 0-2 but they were down 0-2 last year and won three straight. He's still young also so that has to be taken into consideration.

In terms of skill SETS in the NBA right now, i think that Lebron James is the CLOSEST to the skill set of Michael Jordan.
I make sure to use the word SET instead of level, because theres a major difference, and its what puts Lebron closer t Kobe in my eyes.
Michael Jordan won everything in a single year... MVP, ALLSTAR MVP, Scoring title, Defensive title, Championship.... the man could score, rebound, assist, steal ALL in the same game....
Lebron does similar to that, but at a lower level. Lebrons not getting the 30/12/12 games, but hes certainly consistant in all the categories, making him more like MJ than KB is...
Kobe is at a higher level for the THINGS he does... Kobe scores at MJ's level (some argue higher, but your full of ****... kobe takes 125% of the shots MJ did). And OCCASIONALLY decides "hey, lets pass today" and only scores 20... while pulling off 8-9 assists... thats OCCASIONAL! He doesnt have huge scoring gams along with assists... and thats why hes still not a good passer.
So, to answer your question directly, i say
If your talking about the type of player MJ was, Lebron is definately the closest.
If your talking the level of player MJ was, Kobe is definately the closest.
Personaly, i consider MJ's stat filling most important, so i support LBJ more.

Nobody can be the next Jordan until they get at least 3 rings. So far Kobe is the closest thing. Personally to me LeBron is overrated. I like D-Wade and Mello better, but if LeBron can get a consistent jump shot the sky's the limit.

No, LJ is good and may even get better as time goes on, but Jordan had something that no one will ever be able to duplicate and that charisma on and off the court. Today's players should be thankful to MJ for everything he did for the game. But if I had to choose one player whose game resembled MJ's the most it would be a tie between D-Wade and Kobe.

No he's a great player but not a Jordan type player let alone the next Jordan. 24 for LA is the closet thing to Mike - Hate it or love it!

Jordan and only Jordan has eyes in the back of his head. A guy like that happens only once in a lifetime ... or two or three.

Labron could of been the next Pippen ... maybe.
He lacks too many essential qualities that made Mike who he was. No 'killer instinct', selfishness (unfortunatly this trait is needed to be Mike), and the desire to take the decideing shot.
You can eventually attain some of the traits, as Pippen did, but you have to have someone like Mike pushing you...
maybe Labron should consider playing alongside KOBE who is truely the current (not next) Mike!
