2sqrt(x-4) = 10

sqrt(x -4) = 5

(sqrt(x -4))^2 = 5^2

x - 4 = 25

x = 29

Verification :

2 sqrt(29 - 4) = 10

2 sqrt(25) = 10

2 x 5 = 10

10 = 10

Why cant people write math on here properly?

Is that a 2 -times- radical (x-4)?
Or is that the ² radical (x-4).... as in the second/square root?

2 × √(x-4) = 10
√(x-4) = 5
x-4 = 25
x = 29

Or

²√(x-4) = 10
x-4 = 100
x = 104
