If you are serious and this is not a joke, unplug your network cable from your machine and see if the mouse still continues to move by itself. If it is still moving nobody has remote control of your PC and you need to eliminate that risk immediately!

Update: Do not format your machine that is horrible advice, you need to determine what the issue before you jump to such drastic measures!

Buy a mouse trap. That should stop it from moving.
If It's not a mouse but your COMPUTER device mouse then ha, go to start, control panel, then choose mouse- it will open a window where you can check the settings to see if its moving.

if its a trackball, unscrew the bottom and take the ball out and clean it with a wet rag. (spit will work). If its an optical laser- then blow into the len with no spittle- and it will clean the dust. (see how I suggested we could clean with spit and no spit!!)

good luck,
Mouse on.

disconect from the internet entirely remove the hardware you have for doing so, some one may have remote control if it is still happening, is it a wireless mouse because that happened to me when the batteries went dead. i think a new mouse would be in order, if not get your laptop serviced, or just use the trackpad, it works for me!

LOL, wow u all r so serious...

okay, simple. chances are you also have a mouse on your laptop right? well, if u have that ball kind, then the problem is that the ball is REALLY offcentered.

Basically, what happens is taht when you move your ball on your laptop, it get offcentered and is virtually recentered when you move it again. Problem is, every now and then, if you move it in one direction too muhc, it starts "leanding toward the other side"

if you have the pad, then your pad is messing up.

go to your control panel and tun off your laptop mices and if it he proble goes away, then you know the problem. otherwise, u MIGHT have a virus.

When you say "moving by itself", is it moving in a controlled way (e.g. reacting to on-screen items) or is it moving and clicking randomly?

If it is moving and clicking randomly, is it a wireless mouse? It may be picking up wireless interference.

If it seems to react to on-screen items or events (such as a popup box opening), then it may be that your computer is being remotely controlled and you should look into getting a firewall.

You have to collaborate your mouse. You can do that in Control Panel.
