Awful title, no?

Anyway, democrats have you ever voted republican and republicans have you ever voted democrat? Also, do you ever vote independent?

While i am not a registered democrat or even a huge fan of the dems, i do vote for them most often. However, i have voted republican and independent on some rare occasions. All for local or state positions. All dem on the national level.

Sure!

I lean toward the repubs, but have cross the aisle on several occasions.

Anyone who votes strictly down party lines has no thoughts of his or her own.

Yep, all the time. (Kind of hard to not do that when I'm an independent). I used to vote almost 50/50 between republican and democrat... however in recent years, I've been voting for democrats more and more due to the bad decisions on the republicans' part.

I'm registered Republican but don't always vote Republican.
I'd prefer to register as an independent but in my state that restricts your ability to vote in the primary election.
There have been times I re-registered as a Democrat because for those elections I liked the options better.
Generally I vote Rep. because I am a conservative, but they don't always represent my views as well as I wish.
I have voted Dem. for President only once and that was a protest vote AGAINST Nixon for his second term.

I have been voting anything but republican or democrat because when the government is so corrupt it allows corporations to run it it is time for a complete turnover. When they vote themselves raises and argue over nonsense while the poor become poorer and have no human respite from brutal oppression, it is time for a complete turnover. Vote them ALL out.
I did however, vote for Al Gore, he is a visionary. I quit voting after that election, since it is clear today our votes didn't matter.
I would vote for a pure democracy, for constitutional amendments which say "If you pay taxes you vote, regardless of age" and "No treasury spending without majority decision" and "one person, one vote". We can have pure democracy thru the internet, and convert the present "leadership" positions back into service positions. Have the congress be chosen by lottery like jury duty, with minimum education requirements and then send them thru a specialized school for six months to learn how to prioritize needs and tell the truth. The people would decide, after hearing the appeals by congress, whether to build nukes or whether to feed the poor. The people would decide whether to keep letting companies rip off the tax payers while destroying the planet or whether to build a permanent non-polluting global energy supply. The people would decide whether to support the "system of government" with public transportation users fees and quit taxing income all-together, or whether to favor a few over the masses, and continue to falsely value human worth by numbers in a bank account. Etcetera. Nah, I quit voting. Let God sort 'em out.

yes. it was years ago, and i actively campaigned for a Republican for local sheriff. my choice was a man of great personal integrity, and a progressive and enlightened view point; the Dem was just a pig.
