i have a 2000 hyundai elantra, and when it rains it just won't start.i had it to the gradge yesterday and he unhooked the fuel relay auto switch. and that isn't the problem. it's not the wires.it's not the plugs. no fuses are blown. but when you try and start it ,it sounds like it's almost wanting to start. any idea whatelse it could be . i had it on the computer at the gradge twice and they are not reading anything.please help. i need my car for tomorrow. thanks and have a great day

though I'm not well versed in hyundai, it should be a distributorless ignition, whick would go toward the ignition control module. They are usually located under the coil packs, but again I don't know the make. If you can, remove the unit, and look for "tracking" black marks. This is a residue left when electricity passes thru water that will be a dark grey to black streak. It may be one of the coil packs also, but that is harder to see. Look for a whitish remanant on the tips of the pack where the wires connect.

it kinda sounds like there is moisture getting in the destributer cap. remove it and see if there is moisture in it and spray some wd-40 in it,and wipe it out.and it will start.. the moisture is messing up the firing system,sounds like.. check the system for open wiring,and bare wiring.. or some wiring rubbed together.or almost together,and the moisture will make the wiring spark at each other.

Spray all your wiring heavily with WD40. It will clear any moisture that may be causing your problem.
