Evidence is mounting that ancient civilizations were more technologically advanced that previously theorized. Those who held positions of power in the Religious Arena suffocated scientific advancement for fear of reprisal from their concept of God.

No… politics is the biggest cause of the world’s problems. Religion however, is the oldest form of lobbyists.
Get rid of ALL “lobbyists”, and people (elected or not) will start doing the right thing.

I don't think religion alone is the biggest problem, I think it is much larger than that. It is values and culture. Most people are afraid and unwilling to accept anything that is unfamiliar or different. It is easier to try to destroy it than embrace it.

The major organized religions, i.e., Christianity, Islam and Judaism, create discord, greed, and violence.
We need to give them up, but in a way where the bad habits they promote goes away, too.
