I know some people think that way, but the most egregious victims of censorship have always found a way to speak their peace even when under physical threat.

Yes, it's true.

Creators and entertainers who are censored, banned, boycotted, or just face heavy criticism will always have that stigma on their consciousness. Even if they aren't censored for long, the belief that they still could be censored in a future for something they haven't even thought of yet still haunts them.

A rare few sees censorship of their works as a badge of honor, worn to show that something they've done have touched a nerve and affected somebody.

For those that are censored, they have to remain under a cloud of sorts. It's like they have to be extremely careful about what and how they say or do anything. It stymies creativity to a point. In that regards, censorship is never over to those affected by it.
