Personally, I think Dallas needs two things. A player with toughness, and a true point guard. Both of which they could get in this draft in the second round.
First, I think you look at Taurean Green if he's available. He's a exceptional point guard with a winning pedigree (two NCAA titles..I'll take that.) He can hit an outside jumper, something Devin Harris is weak at doing, and he can also penatrate and dish the ball to a big man inside, or a shooter on the wing (did that with Noah on the inside, and Humphrey on the outside all year long).
A couple other players I think the Mavericks could take a look at are Jared Dudley out of BC. The guy is a great low post finisher (something the Mavs lack severely!), and he's the best offensive rebounder I've seen in a long time pound for pound. Cartier Martin out of K-State looks to be a good long range shooter, which the Mavs could use. The thing about him though, is he's also a pretty good lock down defender on the perimeter (I like him a little better than Jason Terry...sorry Jet.) Alando Tucker out of Wisconsin might also be available in hte second round. Came out of a toughness first program under Bo Ryan, and is a pretty polished outside player as well.
All in all, there is a lot of value that the Mavs can get in the second round to help them get over the hump

Hey jet 31,
It's kind of hard to predict that many draft picks down- but i think Dallas really needs another big body to compete with all the talented big men in the West (esp. with Oden and Durant) landing in the West.
They were so desparate that the Mavs signed Kevin Willis out of retirement to be a hacker. And i think in the Warriors series we saw that the game changed a bit when Diop and Dampier got in foul trouble- i think they could use another big man who can get them some hussle points and give some of their big guys rest.
