Absolutely. You're far safer using Firefox than IE (even 7.0), and the fact that you can vastly customize it with themes and adons is always a big plus. Also, Firefox is more standards-compliant than IE, meaning that web sites will display appropriately in Firefox whereas they might have trouble in IE.

I've got XP and Vista on the same computer and Firefox on both. Too many problems with IE7 unable to display pages (asking me to make sure I'm connected to the Internet). No such problem with Firefox

Yes. (Both.) I make websites. I have six browsers layin' around on two laptops. I use Firefox as my habit.
(...Don't forget to keep a copy of IE around as the big bad Witch of the West at Microsoft won't let you download updates through a Firefox session...aside from that, you'll find you use Firefox!)
Enjoy!

I used to have only Internet Explorer but found that it didn't always pull up my Gmail account without problems. Firefox was recommended and downloaded for me, and it's great.
I now use both. It's actually good to have an alternative, if one browser is running slow.

Yes, i love firefox. It is basicly the same as Enternet Explorer except you can change your i.p. address for extra security. Sometimes websites dont appear the way they should (ex. Myspace pages seem displaced with Firefox) Remember if you do download it and dont like it you can always just delete it! ^-^

Yes. FireFox is a little faster with loading pages and downloading. I've used it, and it actually worked.

oh my god yes! There's no doubt. Firefox is, without a doubt, the safest option for web surfing. It gives you options on blocking javascript (which can be bad - pop ups, etc), it also protects your computer. It also has a huge list of great add-ons that you can install to sink your bookmarks on both computers so you can keep them organized.
It is absolutely worth it.

It's at least as good as IE and a much smaller target for hackers. The only advice I would give is to not completely throw out IE because some sites -- notably Microsoft itself -- require it.
