since you're turk, it really doesnt matter if you know or dont know, right? in fact, it is probably best that americans keep that info from you. however, the GOP strategy has been going on for a while and it is "the surge" so to speak. they are planning to train more iraqi soldiers and police and have them take over a province at a time. the democrats have no plan and are for immediately leaving iraq and letting all the iraqis kill each other until a dictator or terror group becomes king of his/her hell

There isn't a democrat or republican 'solution'. There is objective reality. The first thing that has to be done is to admit why the Bush Administration got us into this mess in the first place. That reason is oil. Remove oil from the equation the US would have zero interest in the area. Realistically, because of the pressures of established oil interests there's zero chance of moving our society away from oil in the near furture. In light of that fact US forces should be repositioned to secure the oil fields of Iraq along with all related oil infastructure. We should then dole out enough money as needed to secure the 'loyalty' of what ever faction of the Iraqi population that wants to play ball on our terms. All of the other BS reasons for being in Iraq make zero sense. Will this happen? Don't be silly.

Lets see, to sum it up, Republicans want to send more people to do the same thing that they have been doing pretty much this whole time only we are concentrating in Baghdad instead of Iraq. They understand that military can do little besides be a shield for the government but they refuse to put pressure on that same government because they would feel bad or something.

Democrats want to turn tale and leave immediately without thinking about the fact that while the country is in strife, we put it there. We have a responsibility to help fix things.

Neither side wants to really think things through they are looking for a way to simply sweep it under the rug and blame the other side. That is my take on it anyways.

the Bush plan is to wait it out, allowing more death and destruction and then turning the problem over to the next president.
The Demcratic plan ia to get out of there but to leave enough forces in the area to prevent the growth of terrorism and to help keep peace in other parts of the Middle East

Democrats= Go home, let the civilians be slaughtered in a civil war.

Republicans=Stay, protect civilians from slaughter in mess we created.

We're going to leave, sort of, in the next couple of years, regardless of who's in charge. We can't stay forever.
