Maybe I am cynical but consider this line of thought. These people are ACTORS/ARTISTS. Why is so far fetched to think that ACTORS/ARTISTS do not rehearse even on talk shows. These two gals knew exactly what they were doing and ABC knew exactly what was going to happen. It was a planned staged event. EVERYTHING on TV is planned and staged these days so why would "The View" be any different?
This was a well rehearsed and scripted media happening to boost ratings and to enhance the chances of a Book deal for both gals.

yI believe she asked for an early exit. I think she indeed has something in the wings, maybe with Jay Leno's guy - Ross the Intern.
I believe also, that this is unrelated to the Imus caper.

I heard she asked to be let out early and ABC agreed to it. I also heard she's been talking with CBS about getting her own show in the same time slot as "The View".

According to both CNN and FOXNEWS, Rosie asked to leave early, and ABC granted it to her.

It JUST HAPPENED LIKE 30 MINUTES AGO she resigned. asked for an early out. I really believe they did not fire her, and she's not exactly my favorite.
