Both work well enough. MSN is more likely to last.

MSN; AOL is built upon and requires Internet Explorer. AOL digs deep and dredges into your computer. I could spend the better part of two hours typing to try to persuade you not to get AOL, and offer you several various alternatives, just one of which is MSN (MSN is not perfect, by any means). AOL is at the bottom of the heap. Of just the two, choose MSN.

I would go with msn. I had AOL for years and God forbid you ever want to cancel it. What a nightmare. They keep you on hold forever and beg you and offer you all kinds of stupid services. They basically strong arm you. It was horrible. I finally had to yell at them. I heard there is a class action lawsuit right now against them because of that behavior. It was horrible!

Depends on where you live. If your local phone company is a partner carrier of one or the other helps too.
