Add 2, divide by 2, add 6.5, repeat.
87 + 2 = 89
89 / 2 = 44.5
44.5 + 6.5 = 51
51 + 2 = 53
53 / 2 = 26.5
26.5 + 6.5 = 33
33 + 2 = 35
35 / 2 = 17.5
17.5 + 6.5 = 24
If we continue:
24 + 2 = 26
26 / 2 = 13
13 + 6.5 = 19.5
19.5 + 2 = 21.5
21.5 / 2 = 10.75
10.75 + 6.5 = 17.25
17.25 + 2 = 19.25
19.25 / 2 = 9.625
9.625 + 6.5 = 16.125
If you look at just the sequence of every third value, it converges to 15. Note that ((15 + 2) / 2) + 6.5 = 15.
