Roger Clemens can't not single handedly take the Yankees to the promise land. He's only a pitcher who pitches every 5 days, when he's actually playing, and not being rented for 4 months out of the season. Plus, it's harder to pitch in the american league as opposed to the national league. And he knows better than anyone about the pressure of pitching in New York. By the end of the season, he'll have an era over 4, and the Yankees will be watching the playoffs from home.

Clemens will not save the Yankees, but he will certainly help.....Mussina will come around......Guaranteed.....once he gets into the habit of pitching every 5 days(he's been unable to all year) h'ell be fine......and coupled with the return of Phil Hughes I would like to think that the Yankees have a pretty good rotation.....
1. Wang
2. Pettitte
3. Mussina
4. Clemens
5. Hughes

Clemens is not the answer for the Yanks, but is merely hired help in the bullpen. Personally, he's over paid and over the hill. Even a kid in the minors hit a home run off of Clemens.

I think Steinbrenner has got more money than sense. Clemens is over the hill, just like Randy Johnson. Sure they still have some good stuff, but it is spotty at best. If there is no consistency in their performance, what good is blowing $25 million on a has been? Look at Sammy Sosa, who is playing with the Rangers, trying to make a comback. He is a shell of his former self.

Hes not going to save them. He will make them better though. Moose is having a tough first half so far but should be able to finish .500 Id say. Their bats are what has let them down more so than their pitching. They have had some quality outings with no run support. Pettitte should be perfect this year. Middle relief started off badly as well.

The pitching is decent enough. Bats need to come alive. With their lineup, theres no reason they shouldnt be scoring 7+ a night.

the only reason Mussina's ERA is so high is because of the Yanks-Red Sox game on May 22. the Umpire wasn't callin good strikes. then Ramirez hit his 3-run homer. and Youkils' at-bat too.

If the "Chinese kid" ur talkin about is Chein Ming Wang he's 3-3, 4.28. the only bad game he's had is againt the Rangers

Honestly, I am a fan of Roger Clemons, but he does need to hang up the cleats. He is passed his prime even though he still got the heat in his pitches. The Yankees should have gone after a young pitcher or pitcher in his prime other than RC. Mussina is getting old and chinese guy is just young that's all.

The best he could do is try and stop some of the bleeding. They know he's only good for a few innings to begin with.
