I'm Hispanic as well, and proud of my heritage but Latin men tend to be very ignorant when it comes to this subject. The kid would be the one growing up hopefully in an American society. Think about this, how about English names that are easy for Spanish people to pronounce. My kids names are Justin and Chrystal. Very simple easy to pronounce names. Think about your kids, not your husband because if he ever leaves you which there is always that 50% chance, then the kids would be left off with those funky names.

I am Caucasian American, he is Salvadoran. He said no English names with his Spanish last name, I agree with him, it does sound better. Name a boy after his father and a girl after his mother or sister. Also, many hispanics name their children after the saint that represents the day of their birth. My children's names are a bit difficult for some adults to pronounce at first glance but never the children they always have pronounced my children's names correctly. Their names are Celina Esperanza and Romey Ismael, the Romey is from my side of the family. We use their middle names though.
Most children I know are from mixed couples and everyone has their own idea, whatever you decide is okay. You know of Kelly Rippa, she named all her kids Spanish names. Choose a name you like in English and look up the Spanish translation for it. Roberto, Leticia, Enrique, Gabriella, Carlos, Alicia, Antonio, Maya, Santos, Maria, Jose', Elena, Joquin, there's so many, ask advice from him and also his family if possible. Good Luck.
