Very clever question.
It really bothers me sometimes how we taken everything for granted, even other human beings doing jobs for us.
I personally have not met out garbageman here, but we are great friends with the mail woman(our pup even tried to get a ride once).
I may have to add the garbageman to my hug schedule next year, I will have to be awake early anyway.
Thanks for making me(and hopefully some other yahoo people) think.

Troy has worked for the city ever since he graduated from school. He is the one constant in the otherwise family filled job. When you drive by them you always see him working and the rest of them holding a shovel or a cup of coffee. This gentleman is not all there mentally but he's found a way to earn everybody's respect. He is an example that we should all strive to be like!!!!

No. He/She always comes after I have already left for work. But I do have a friend that works as a garbage man. I call him Big Diesel Dean. He's cool.

I don't discriminate a person for what he or she does for a living and even thought I might not know their name I am very nice to them either at my apartment complex or the building where I work. They have my respect for doing something I would do. The cleaning people I know are very hard working and honest immigrants not depending on welfare, no disrespect, but the point is they rather work that pan handle.

Once, his name is Jose. Haven't seen him in a long time because the trash truck comes after I left for work.
We talked about his children in El Salvador. They are living with his parents while he works 3 jobs here to support himself and his family.

I'm never home when they come around (we have three of them on the same truck), but I smile if I happen to see them. I've said hi to the mailman a few times, but he drives a mail truck and doesn't stick around longer than stuffing my mail in my box.

Yes, I do. His name is Roberto. I've never talked to him, but I know his name because he is related to a co-worker.
