Why does it matter who helps more? Why don't Africans start helping themselves? It isn't the US's responsibility to shoulder all the world's problems. As so many people like to point out on here, we have problems of our own to fix. Let China do it.

China is securing resources for itself in the future.
America has not been looking out for its own best interests since Iraq - the war has consumed its time, money, and attention. Just like PNAC planned.
Most people don't have a clue that Africa has oil, by the way.

Another history lesson is due!
Several centuries ago China ruled Tibet. That was prior to Tibet becoming an independent nation.
Not so long ago China invaded Tibet, threw out the Tibetan religious rulers, forced changes in their beliefs, put their military in charge and now runs the country. They have moved in the elitist Han Chinese to rule Tibet. The Han rule over all the eighty - plus Chinese groups. (The Han think they are better than all the other Chinese. If you are not Han, you do not have much chance of obtaining a good education or good job in China.) There is considerable racism and class-ism in China and the Chinese think the ***** race is the lowest of all races in the world.
China justifies their actions by saying Tibet was once ruled by China so it naturally belongs to China.
Truth be told, China also ruled India, most of the middle east and all of the east coastal areas of Africa.
They are diligently and carefully moving toward reclaiming what is theirs.
History explains a lot!

OIL...they need it and Africa has un-secured sources. China also has money to spend...the USA doesn't!
As a side note China has also been subsidizing the US debt ($9.5 Trillion and growing) by buying US Treasury Bonds (future US dollars)...until Monday that is when they announced they will no longer buy any more US debt.

I would guess China isn't yet exhausted in the attempt, as The United States is.
We tried for 50 years to help many African countries, all attempts failed in large part.
I don't have any answers about what to do to help Africa, aside from education through missionaries, etc. But that's one really backwards continent, in large part, save northern Africa, and south Africa.

Because the U.S. is at war, and we're spending all our money. China on the other hand has one of the world's biggest economy, that it's no wonder they are helping more.

Yeah...it's definitely oil. China needs it badly and has a bad track record of courting anyone necessary to get it.
