I never saw rollerblades until the 90's. Now rollerskates were still cool in the 80's, I had the fisher price ones to start...

Hula hoops and yo-yos were not an '80s fad, although '50s "kitsch" was popular.
Swatch watches
Neon color accessories, like sunglasses and bracelets
leg warmers
head bands
carefully and strategically ripped clothes
leashes/retainers for your sunglasses
Big shoulder pads in jackets
Flipping up collars on polo style shirts
Pushing up sleeves on suit jackets, a la Miami Vice
I miss the '80s but not for these reasons. ;)

I wish I knew what this fascination was with the 80's.....
anyways, here goes....
for clothes....parachute pants were big, leg warmers over jeans, Reeboks, big huge colored cotton socks, pushed down to the shoe, docksiders,
Izod shirts with the colar turned up
movies: Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club, The Lost Boys, and then....Top Gun (just a small list)
Activities: Roller Skating, Skateboarding, Yo-yo's were so-so, Everybody hung out at the mall. Nintendo 64 was big, video games were popular
Ask your parents about the Trapper Keeper and those stinky pens. they were thick, silvery markers that smelled so terribly.
good luck!

New Age Music, Punk Music, big hair, sweater dresses, leggings, legwarmers, "Flashdance" sweaters, short, spiky hair a la Pat Benatar, Stripes--and lots of them, lots of makeup, particularly cream blush and lipgloss, Miami Vice suits for the guys (in really nasty pastel colors), the beginnings of Hip Hop (e.g., Fab Five Freddy), two tone hair (blonde on black--like the chick in the group Berlin, Terri Nunn), Rubic's cubes, Michael Jackson's Thriller album (and Moonwalking), Rainbow Brite, Strawberry Shortcake, My Little pony,He-Man and the Transformers for the boys, Preppy clothing, The Big Chill soundtrack, ANYTHING by John Hughes (Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles)--is that enough?

Let's not forget big hair! Most girls(and alot of guys!) went through three or four cans of hair spray a week. And who can forget the mullet?!
Skaters(late eighties) also wore very bright "baggies" and converse shoes.
Another fad was to "personalize" your clothes with washable markers.
On the "country side" was Clint Black, Randy Travis, Justin Ropers(boots) and Wranglers(for guys) and Rockies(for girls).
Also, bell Bottoms were more 70's, in the 80's we did a "french roll" to make our pants tight around the ankle, that is if they weren't already very tight!

Asymmetrical haircuts were all the rage. Leggings, or as we referred to them back then, stretchies mostly were worn with extremely huge tee-shirts or sweaters. Red matte lipstick and plenty of black or purple eyeliner was the thing to wear as far as makeup.
And last but not least, lets not forget O - ring bracelets!
