The first way to help alleviate poverty is decreasing unwanted pregnancies and the first way to do that is through precautions: tell them how to prevent pregnancies with the pills, condoms and so on, and if they do get pregnant show them that tey have choices which should include abortion. you see when you give the people a choice better things will happen

Yes, abortion could help to alleviate poverty in the third world nations. Many women in the third world nations, because of their financial state they can only find one source of comfort and that is sex. They can barely find money to buy food so where are they going to get condoms (even though they are so cheap). In a case like this where a condom is not used it is a 95%-5% that the female will get pregnant. There is no other way to get rid of that pregnancy and abortion is free, do it. You don't have any money to take care of any child, do it. Personally I don't believe in abortion but if i were to get pregnant at age 15 some one has got to show me where to get an abortion, or if I get pregnant at a stage like this where I can only provide for myself that father better start working hard.

Absolutely! Coupled with the fact that rape is much more common (because the consequences are paltry and/or non-existent), this is a very good idea, I think. Half of eliminating poverty is removing expenses (the other half is increasing income, obviously); what greater expense (speaking in purely financial terms) is there than a child?
Of course, it can't do the job by itself--it needs the support of easily available contraceptives as well.

Of
course not. Birth control, while being very effective in population reduction is an unrealistic expectation for third world countries, Most of these countries consider their children their wealth. My posture on this serious problem is that jobs are necessary. The demise of despotic dictators will help too.

I don't think contraceptions, birth control of any kind would work. Most can't afford food, where would they get money for birth contol. I think maybe providing vasectomy, or hysterectomy would be a better idea. Cheaper than giving them an abortion every time they got pregnant, and better for them in the long run.

It would so much better if we could teach them birth control, and how not to have too many children. Abortion, in this case, is definitely not the answer.
But the Christian Right won't allow any kind of birth control to be taught in other countries.

Of course abortion *could* help this matter, however, it seems like offerring free tubaligations, comprehensive sex ed and reliable birth control would be a better option.

It wouldn't hurt. Of course, the pro-forced childbirth crowd also fights any help/aid on birth control to these areas. They'd rather the kids be born and suffer starving to death. How godly of them.

That seems like a drastic way to fight poverty. Though I understand your thinking, perhaps mandatory sterilization would be a better option. Less costly too in the long run.

No, but hell would get filled quicker than you can think. Abortion is sin in God's eyes and since He is the ruler of everything , He would never reward us for doing the wrong thing. Remember : "Two wrongs don't make a right" .
