Straight Edge just isn't a gimmick, it's a way of life, a punk lifestyle at that. Go to a Black Flag or Minor Threat concert and see if you don't get headbutted to death by nihilists with x's painted across their hands after yelling out "straight edge is for sissy's." The industry needs more people like CM Punk, people who aren't going to die by the age of 30 due to drug abuse. The sissy's are the panty waists who end up selling everything they own because they're too weak to break their self-destructive habits.
Granted, it's a better heel gimmick than a face one, it's still a fresh and cool gimmick.

Yeah CMPunks role is dorky, but its WWE all the faces are dorks so he fits in well. And the guy saying Punk smokes pot with Hardy after the show doesnt know how right he is

Not being a cancer-ridden, alcoholic pothead is for kids now? Punk's gimmick is marketed more towards a punk audience (straight-edge is a very prominent aspect of the punk subculture).

no its not sissy. he is trying to stay healthy so he wont die at a young age. smoking and drinking will mess up your internal organs. CM Punk is making a right decision
