I'm not looking for opinions and judgements, a simple yes or no would suffice.

I am reffering to the McCanns and what Gerry said in the interiview today and want to get public opinion on this.

This is the distance from the apartment to the Tapas bar they were dining

No and who is Mr MCCAnn kidding?

Just admit you made a mistake and I will forgive otherwise what is their to firgive...

I might be over reacting but I would think something just might happen to those kids and I will be responsible for that (meaning dinner away from the kids aint worth it)

But in the McCanns case nothing will happen they are asleep and we will be away for one hour .. the kids dont wake up and walk around... but if something did happen to those kids thats not our fault...

They are either obviously from a different generation and never watch tv or read the news and explains their attiude.

Not at all. I think these people are all in McCann's head to be honest. Another little story he's telling himself to make himself feel better and justify to himself what they did.
Even all the little Lord Longfords...sorry...McCann supporters...say they never leave their children alone, and I honestly can't imagine anyone admitting to it unless they're incredibly stupid. But then again, I suppose it takes all sorts.

Not in a billion yrs!!
Children are the most precious God given gift we could ever have...
The MCanns will have to live with this for the rest of their lives, always wondering 'what if.'

Its very sad, and lord knows poor little Maddie will never be seen again...

As soon as I heard the news a little girl was missing i put a question on here asking people to pass it on at the time I thought she was taken only now after 3 weeks and all that has come out I see things so differently, it still breaks my heart about Maddy only sorry don't think much of the way the parents are acting. I would never have left mine on their own at that age and even my 7yr old grandaughter was going to Spain with some friends she is not even going now as we are so scared. I will take her with me and wherever I am she will be by my side, not left or even out of sight while playing.

Not just no, but hell no! With kids that age, situations go all "pear" shaped really quick. That's when adults are supposed be around to protect them.

Their daughter disappeared while they were away, not at the beach or walking down the street, but while they were unavailable to protect their child. This was a target of opportunity that never should have been made available.

No I'm not. You cannot leave a toddlers to fend for themselves. Yes they were asleep, but it only takes a second for a child to wake up, and minutes for them to have an accident. And of course there is the risk of intruders, which became a reality in this case.

Children need looking after, and the sad fact is that there was no one looking after them that night. I spent an hour today helping a woman look for her child, who had wandered off when her back was turned. It's that easy. Why make it worse by deliberately leaving them like that. It was not right, and is not justifiable.

I NEVER leave my kids anywhere that I myself or a trusted family member cannot see or hear them!! I don't even leave them in the car to run up to pay for gas...let alone to go and eat a meal. OMG what is this world coming to!!!

Hell No!

I wouldn't mind a garden that size though!

It is a perfectly reasonable question that relates to ONE particular 'mistake' - Gerry McCann says that thousands of people have told him they would do the same... well my 3 kids are now adults and in all the years they were growing up, not only did I never leave my own children alone while I went out to dinner, I also never met anyone else who did either. And no, I'm not claiming to be perfect, just not deliberately reckless!
