I am accessing PDFs format from an internet site. The way the site is set up, I am forced to select each PDF document one at a time to read and/or save/download the PDF to my computer.

Is there a general way to bypass the limits of the website design which forces me to do a lot of clicking and just grab all of the PDF's in one download?

Not unless the person who designed that web site included a "download all" link. The way ftp works, it is one file at a time.
