There is a European Health and Wellness company which includes a color/cosmetics line called "About Face" by Arbonne. Arbonne means "Good Things of the Earth". All 400 of their products are botanical and herbal based without mineral oils, chemical dyes, fragrances, harmful alcohols, no animal by-products, never tested on animals. In fact, they are "Certified Vegan". Their "About Face" line actually has Anti-Aging elements and a SPF factor. There is also a Mineral Foundation that is so light, it feels like you don't have any makeup on at all. The liquid foundation and the concealer also have a natural botox!! It gently and naturally relaxes fine lines and wrinkles away while it is addressing the aging process. WOW! They do their own research and development so they own their own formulas. There are Patents Pending. There's nothing else like this company on the market! Arbonne is manufactured in the States and distributed there and in Canada. BUT, July, 2007, they will open a Branch outside of SYDNEY!!! Check out www.CindieReed.myarbonne.com and click on "Simply the Best Products".

I'd have to say that you'd be the only one who can say what the best makeup is for your skin type and activity. What you should really do is try each one (testers are available) to see which ones your skin will react well to.
Though generally you get what you pay for, makeup doesn't always have to be expensive to have a good effect. Play around with the shades, combinations and have fun. That's what it's all about anyway.
Bring out the real beauty in yourself.
Cheers!

It depends on how much you're willing to cough up, I'm not saying the high end brands are much better than drugstores, but it does require some researching. I've been buying every single type of foundation that I can get my hands on, and to me the best one is Giorgio Armani's Foundation. Also, the drugstore brand Revlon makes great eyeshadows and bronzers, so it all depends up to you and you will find out what works for you and what doesn't . GOOD LUCK!!

CoverGirl!
I love the eyeshadows-they don't fade and stay perfect all day long. So I don't have to worry about applying more coats or whatever. I like how I can apply the eyeshadow and get on with my day without worrying that it will fade.
I also love the lipglosses-they are great. The blush is pretty good too-that too stays on my face all day.
CoverGirl is just my number 1 favorite makeup brand period-they are affordable, long lasting and come in awesome colors. Plus at the site you can sign up to get your own beauty consultant and you fill in the info (eye color, skin tone, hair color, and so on) and products are automatically picked out for you. So you can go in Wal-Mart, grab what you need and go. :)

I usually don't go by brand. I pick the colors I like and if I happen on a product I like I will buy that again. Like the Colorstay lipsticks... Most make ups have the same thing in them even the high dollar ones. If you have alergies the Almay line is good too.

I dont believe that you should stick to one brand! Each brand does something better and the other.
Eg. I wear channel foundation, Dior mascra, channel eyeliner, Gurlain bronzer, Sometimes clarins foundation for during the day.. red earth high lighter, YSL touche E (conceler), Body shop lip linner called 'beach', Lancome' cover up, D&G perfume.... I think you get idea.
P.s If you find something you like but its alittle expensive.. try www.strawberrynet.com

All of the suggestions are fine. That is if you are happy with fine. I am not. lol. I would recommend something more high end. my favorite is Bee-Luscious Cosmetics (you can only get it direct and on-line). Then it is a toss up between Dior and Chanel. Some things that Bee-Luscious don't carry I have to get from Dior or Chanel.

IMHO, for foundation - Clinique
for mascara - L'Oreal
for lipstick - Clinique, BeneFit, Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick & Lip Gloss
for eye shadows - Revlon, L'Oreal (almost any brand if you like the color)
for blush - almost any brand if you like the color
Check out www.makeupalley.com & www.cosmeticscop.com for product reviews/recommendations, etc.

I'm not sure what to recommend because everybody's skin is different according to texture and how much oil your skin can take without you breaking out, but I use clinique a lot. Their moisturizers are great and I'm pretty sure their whole line is oil-free. I like to wear lipgloss a lot instead of lipstick so I use victoria's secret or MAC, etc.
