Too be clear, I have no problem with the NAACP or UNCF. The problem I have is the double standard. If the NAACP, UNCF, BET, Miss Black America, and the like are not considered racist (excluding anyone who is not black based soley on their race), why not then would the National Assoc. for the Advancement of White People or the United Caucasion College Fund be accepted as not racist.

I understand that in the past these organizations were created to promote equal opportunity, but today a young black, hispanic, asian, etc.. have the same opportunity to succeed as anyone else. Such organizations today only promote inequality. I begs me to wonder if people want equality or revenge for acts committed by persons who are long dead. Two wrongs don't make a right. If discrimination against blacks is wrong (and it is) then discrimination against whites is equally wrong, is it not.

I don't have a problem if there was a UCCF or any of the others....to keep it honest, it's been that way for years before advancements were made. But what's wrong with a culture celebrating or signifying their cultuure with Ms. Black America etc.???

THe reason these groups were created, were because many of these events and other things were white only. Like you say miss black American was created because blacks could not compete in the miss America pageant. The NAACP was created because blacks in the 60's and before were treated as second class citizens. The reason there are historically black college and universities and the united ***** college fund was because only whites received aid for college and only whites could attend most of the colleges in the US especially in the south. There really is not a double standard with this it is just people forget why these groups were created because everything else in that time and still now are created for whites only. When I was in college a group of white students wanted to create a Caucasian club, the funny thing was our approval group was made up of representatives from the other student unions and student government. Most of the student government reps were white while the minority student unions groups were obviously not white. Make a long story short it failed by 1 vote it was approved unanimously by the minorities on the board but the whites voted it down.

Because of the issue of white supremacy. For first 150 years of this country blacks were slaves and then second class citizens oppressed with laws insuring the supremacy of whites. These organizations came into being because these people were denied their rights and fair opportunity based on their race. Now for the last 50 years or so we have been trying to correct the legacy of legalized white supremacy, but things are still not equal. One only needs to read questions like this to understand that.

And what would the purpose be to form such groups strictly for white people? Well it would not be to promote equality and opportunities for an oppressed minority, because whites are neither the minority or the oppressed. So it would be to re-establish white supremacy.

You Bigot White Racist---how dare dare you try and undo the years of racial slavery brought upon the Black African American Colored ***** by mean and despicable White Ku Klux Klanners like yourself. Lynchings, slavery and mistreatment that the brothers and sisters were subjected to 150 years ago is appalling. Even though they are all dead we should receive more $$$$ from the Federal Government for reparations, all the wellfare and government give-aways over the years will never make up for it, you RACIST I suppose you believe OJ killed his wife too and that Black people make up 70% of all violent crime. My name is the Reverend Al Sharpless and I'm running for Mayor of NYC, my platform is down with Whitey, make outrageous and untrue statements, have Black anything we want and Whitey unable to have anything for themselves, as for the "N' word we can use that word among ourselves, but; if YOU use it, we'll burn your house down--you Racist pig. If it's one thing I can't stand it's Racism in any form your Honky Mother-fxxxxx--I'll kick your white ***. Now if you would like to donate to my campaign, mail $$$ to Sharpless for Mayor, box 269 Park Avenue, NY, NY, did I mention my new book," A Loving Black Man in a Whitey Honky Society" available for $24.95 online at WWW.BLACKPOWER.com---and the answer to your question is, NO, you can't have anything all white, cuz bro, I said so.....and remember I know where you live-----Love, Reverend Al

Although great men like Thomas Sowell and Bill Cosby might disagree, African Americans need these institutions to help compensate for years of slavery and second class citizenship. Whites, as a rule, have more opportunity than Africans Americans.

thing that should be abolished is all of these

The problem is that such an organization would be an insult to the truly disenfranchised. NAAWP, indeed! This is just thinly veiled racism disguised as disingenuity.

I am not amazed how stupid people can be. I lost several ancestors in the civil war and not a single ***** has shook my hand and thanked me for my families losses to free theirs! Hey, we even offered to pay their way back to Africa, and to them who didn't want to leave we gave 40 acres and a mule and helped many of them to build homes. After that, we gave them a hundred years of welfare and free medical care. Instead of gratitude they say I need to pay them? When do you decide it is time to get off your duff and earn your own living?

Because then we'd have to have one for the Asians, another for the Hispanics, etc. I'm in favor of having one that serves everyone and abolishing everything else.

I agree but once you start having all different kind of programs separated by race we are going down the wrong path. We should make the programs for everyone.
