I glanced over at my girlfriend. She'd always been a bit -- peculiar -- but today she was in rare form. Dressed in flowing caftan, wig and horned helmet, she raised her torch on high and proclaimed: "3. You're maudlin and full of self-pity. You're magnificent!" Since we were currently sitting at the bar in the Brown Derby, I wasn't surprised to overhear a passing waiter quip: "5. Heaven help me. I love a psychotic!"

I cringed. I HATED publicity. "Please, calm down -- you are making SUCH a spectacle of yourself," I begged her.
