I do. I love the Dixie Chicks. Purchasing a CD and whether or not something is played on radio really doesn't have a lot to do with one another these days. So much of 'country' music is crossed over with other categories these days so if you aren't played on a regular country station one place- you very well could be somewhere else. Fact is CD sales are down for pretty much all genres- and that doesn't prevent music from getting out there and people listening to music. You can download it from places like itunes and as far as I know that has nothing to do with a CD sale.
Besides, just because the Dixie Chicks may have lost some of their fans in the southern US doesn't mean they haven't picked up fans elsewhere.

I do! They are a very talented group of young ladies. I also support their right to freedom of speech!
As far as putting down a certain person. Well let's just say the Dixie Chicks aren't alone in the way they feel! And What was said couldn't have brought any more shame to the person in question than his own actions!

Those that support The Dixie Chicks should start calling their local radio stations and ask to hear songs by The Dixie Chicks!
That's what I p;an to do!

Anyone who honestly enjoys their music is going to buy their CD. I think the stink a few years ago has subsided. They made a film "Shut Up and SIng" pretty much chronicling the event surrounding that and if I am not mistaked, they did a live performance of "I'm Not Ready To Make Nice"

They were not nominated for 2006 for their album "Taking The Long Way" which they were nomnated and won five grammy awards...

Album of the Year,
Song of the Year,
Record of the Year,
Country Album of the Year and
Country Group of the Year

not to mention the following article from cmt.com...

Dixie Chicks Find Their Way to No. 1

The Dixie Chicks are ruling the roost again as Taking the Long Way returns to No. 1 on Billboard's country album chart. The trio won five Grammys earlier this month, including album of the year and country album of the year. The sales surge -- from 12,700 to 103,000 copies for the week -- officially pushed them past the 2-million mark for the title.

People who like their music plain and simple.

There are people who buy music because of it's image or who the artist is.

Others buy or listen to the music because it's good. Some awards are a popularity contest.. others are the merit of the music only.. however I find controversy also scores brownie points (The chicks and Johnny Cash have proven that recently)

Natalie Maines did her freedom of speech thing and the chicks have gotten the consequences from it (hince they aren't played on most country stations.. Mostly small mom and pop stations and Canadian stations)

I'm not really political... But even though she screwed up in Britain in a caught in a moment situation, all of them are still damn good musicians.. I listen for the music, not the message.

Lot's of people. People still like them. country radio stations just don't play their music so that they don't offend someone. Personally I don't think that just because they said something some people didn't like isn't a reason for everyone to get mad at them. Lot's of people say bad things about President Bush all the time. It just caused a big mess because The Dixie Chicks are celebs. If they weren't nobody would care what they said.

Sheet, i think of Willie and The Dixie Chicks gets on the subject of an identical airplay. no longer sufficient. i think human beings took it some incorrect way. If radio replaced into to play The Chicks the listeners replaced into going to boycott the stations.I want they might start up a boy cott on Rascal Flatts quite. What Natalie pronounced did no longer indignant me on the least and that i voted for President Bush two times. somebody needs to tell that gal above purely what Natalie pronounced that bashed our usa. contemplate whether she watches Hollyweird video clips? Lord is conscious actors in no way bash the rustic and the president. vast DEAL what Natalie pronounced, i'm kinda embarrassed that i'm from an identical state as Jesse Jackson and Dick Durbin. because of the fact that I wrote that i think i visit get death threats now. John Mellencamp has many of the kookiest politics and ideology in his head. He pronounced on the Charlie Rose show that we replaced into no longer in basic terms incorrect going into Iraq yet additionally Afghanistan. the guy flat out pronounced he replaced into against all wars whether attacked. because of the fact that i'm kinda basic going, I purely shook my head and then performed Paper In hearth off his Lonesome Jubilee cd as loud it could pass.

I agree with BobbyD they can't say they are ashamed of the president and still actually think people who like him will buy their CD's can they? As for your question I don't really know they were never really "country" anyway...did you hear their music??? Nothing like what country should be, but then again nothing is these days...I think that the radio stations are trying to keep listeners b/c they know a lot of people don't like them so why would they risk playing them and losing money and listeners?

only those truly devoted or demented fans. They did it to themselves by attacking the President like they did, in England, wouldn't say it in front of an American audience. B'sides their latest releases aren't close to what country is today. If they want to be a pop act go ahead but don't come running back to the country fans.
