I am leaning against this one but thought I would run it past you. Now I run a salary cap, keepers league with contracts and such.

My team is
C- B McCann SP: R Oswalt
1B - A Gonzalez J Verlander
2B - J Kent C Wang
3B - D Wright C Capuano
SS - D Jeter B Penny
OF - M Ordonez B Wagner
OF - B Abreu JJ Putz
CF - V Wells A Otsuka
UTIL - M Cuddyer

Some guy offered me C Figgins 3.25M with multiyear contract and AJ Burnett 12M 1 year for B Abreu 15M 1 year

Let me know! Thanks.

I might be inclined to take that offer if I were you. Abreu is in a pretty steady decline the last 2 years and offers minimal power so it comes down to SB,runs and RBI. Figgins will easily get more SB in the long run, run scoring should be close and the RBI you would sacrifice dont seem such a big deal with the other bats in your lineup to make up that margin. Burnett is a very nice upgrade over Wang or Capuano, he will give you pretty close to the same ERA and WHIP but will badly outdistance Wang in K's and will give plenty more K's than Capuano. Looks to me like you are only giving up a few RBI for a lot of SB and K's in return with minimal impact elsewhere numbers wise. I would think seriously before rejecting this offer. Good luck!

The everyday players in this deal have not played well yet this year and the pitcher is either great or horrible. It looks like you are making a deal for the sole reason of making a deal. I am not a big fan of doing that. I don't know that it will help you that much. Both Figgins and Abreu should, (and I do mean SHOULD) come out of it soon and Burnett is ....well he's Burnett. I know he has potential, but that's all it has been so far.

If you think you'll need the potential power Abreu can give more than the steals Figgins can give, do it. Otherwise stand pat.

I would do it. Your roster could use some speed, and that is Figgins strength. Also, you will be still have him on your team after Abreu's contract runs out. Abreu is not worth the $15 million, while $12 million is the going rate for decent starting pitchers and Figgins is a relative bargain if he can stay healthy.

Burnett always gets hurt - but since Toronto is pretty much out of it - he will probably have a good year. He just seems like that type of player.

Figgins will rebound - but the question is will they get another 3B and move him back to a Util role.

I'd keep Abreu.
