Zero. I have not been directly affected by the Patriot Act to the point where I felt like I lost some freedom.
Looks like most of the people here didn't understand the question.

Wow, the ignorance of some people is stunning. Of course, if they were informed and educated they wouldn't be liberals, would they?
Nobody has lost any rights.
A.) The right to privacy is not protected by the Constitution.
B.) Habeus Corpus has only been removed from foreign combatants captured on a battlefield.
C.) The 4th Amendment protects us from "Unreasonable" search and seizure. In other words, they can't search your house unless you commit murder in it. They can't listen to your phone unless you are a suspected terrorist.
If any of you idiot liberals had ever read the Constitution, the Amendments, and the Patriot Act, you would see that all of this is very clearly spelled out.
Liberals: do the world a favor, educate yourself and get informed about reality, not media spin. Maybe you can become a rational person instead of a nut job liberal.

When a gov't takes your freedom they dont do it overnight. They slowly put programs into place and quietly start activating them.
When done for protection or prosperity this is overlooked, but it rarely ends with the people suddenly being given back what was taken.

Have you tried playing online poker for real money lately? You can't thanks to part of the patriot act.
Here is another good question what has the patriot act done to actually protect us? Besides warrentless wiretaps.... we all know how that is going.

Well gee let's see....
1. We lost the doctrine of "Habeas Corpus" meaning the government can come arrest us, detain us, keep us locked up for years with no charges ever being brought against us;
2. We lost the right to wear our shoes and carry 4 ounce or larger liquids onto planes at the airport;
3. We lost the right to have private conversations on landline telephones or cell phones;
4. We lost the right to carry a lighter or a book of matches in our pockets on planes'
5. We lost the prosperity which comes when the country isn't reeling from a crushing National Debt, because Monkey Man took us from a Budget Surplus to an almost $10 TRILLION deficit;
6. At least 26,000 US Servicemen and women lost any chance of living normal lives or raising families, since they're either dead or grievously wounded in an unjust and unjustifiable war;
7. We lost the right to be able to trust the election process in the US, to believe our votes actually count. Now, if the government doesn't like the way you vote, they disenfranchise you;
8. We lost the right to privacy;
9. We lost the right to protest without being labeled "Anti American" or "Terrorist Sympathizers";
A Better question might be to ask, "Exactly what have we GAINED from the passage of the PATRIOT act?"

Its the feeling of security and safety that is gone. I no longer have legal protection against being dragged from my home, imprisoned forever, not even getting a trial, let alone a lawyer, and of being beaten, tortured, and of course people die under torture and after beatings. We used to take it for granted that that could not happen here. This was America. That type of thing happened only under tyrannical regimes like Nazi Germany or Stalinist Russia. We were protected by our Bill of Rights and English Common Law. Which are now termed "quaint" ideas by the Attorney General, who is charged with enforcing those very laws. Its so ironic that the Right Wing, which has had its skirts in a knot forever about too much government power, now cheers the death of the Bill of Rights. I also do not like the idea of being spied on, not a bit. Presumption of Innocence is only a fond memory. Welcome to 1984.

I haven't lost any. I am keeping my eye on it, though. It is responsible Conservatism to not trust government with any more power than necessary.
Bert, I've taken matches on airplanes. Make sure you wear socks that don't match and have holes in them. That'll teach 'em! Regardless, it is liberals who require these draconian security methods for all of us, because they scream racism if we "profile."

That would be NONE. Did you notice that all the people who said they had lost something didn't post a link to show proof?
Air America just tells them that they have, but doesn't show them where to look for themselves.

Sometimes on the way home from work I go in front of the airport. Although it hasn't happened to me yet, it almost did. The police are doing random stops and searches! They just point to you to pull over, make you get out and start going through your car! He started to point to me once, but some idiot tried to cut me off and he pulled them over instead! I think it's horrible! We're AMERICANS and should not have to succumb to random searches! Anyone that says it's for my safety can blow that BULL out their butts!
