Think of bi as add a hydrogen and you will be able to name all the bi anions. "di" means two
bicarbonate
bisulfate
biphosphate

Your right bi in latin means two however it's not referring to the carbon atoms. Instead it has to do with the fact that it takes twice as many equivalents (or moles) of bicarbonate ions to neutralize an acid compared to carbonate
ions.

Bicarbonate is the HCO3 ion, which has a net charge of -1. Carbonate is the CO3 ion, which has a net charge of -2.
