I was a simple man raising a family on the frontier, living in harmony with my Native American neigbors. My son Nathan even feel in love with a beautiful young Native girl Wind Dancer. We lived happily until the Europeans came and one of them forced himself on Wind Dancer. Nathan was brutally beaten trying to defend her honor. Members of her tribe and I went to settle things, but we were ambushed I was captured making way for my best friend to escape to warn the rest of his tribe. I was beaten then locked away in a cell. I watched helplessly from the cell window as my son and a few of the youths from the tribe trying to rescue me and another tribesmen Two Plains, we watched in horror as they were slaughtered. In my rage I snapped the neck of the guard when he came to our cell door. We got the keys and escaped we returned to our homes to find all we knew dead. Two Plains chose to go to the southwest to join with another tribe to try to prevent another slaughter. I decided I had nothing left to live for and in my rage returned to get revenge on those who took Nathan from me. He was all I had left after his mother died and now he was gone. Also to honor those who had befriended me and my family those who were there when my Ann died ,those who helped be bury her beneath the branches of her favorite oak tree. I lost my self in my bloodlust, I got to the point I got numb from all the killing but the more I killed the emptyness in my heart never subsided. Five years I fought alone in my misery. Each year on my darling Ann's Birthday I returned to her grave leaving Dandielions on her grave, they always were her favorite. On the fifth year a bounty hunter who had been hunting me for three years shot me as I was placing her flowers down. As I lay dying I saw my darling Ann calling to me Nathan and Wind Dancer beside her and my friends who were slaughtered stood behind them smiling waiting for me.

I lived on the frontier with my husband and son we lived in an untamed area and if not for our Native American friends we would not have survived our first winter in the harsh new land. They taught us how to live in union with the land my son Nathan loved his friends especially a lovely little girl name Wind Dancer though they we only children when I died of fever I always hoped they'd grow to be together. My husband Paul built us a beautiful cabin with the help of our friends Running Fox and others. I still remember sitting under an oak tree watching Paul and Running Fox teach the kids how to hunt even though I said Nathan was too young he loved those days. I just regret that I didn't get to see them grow older.
