I read on Howard's website that Artie is leaving. Is it because Howard pissed him off or because he's burnt out?

Oofah. I wanted to throw something when I heard that on Howard 100 News! I love Artie. I think he adds an element to the show that is absolutely necessary for its success.
I think Artie's depressed and stressed out, and I don't think he's telling the truth about being clean. He's probably taking a break to clean up, and I hope that's all it is and that he'll be back when he's ready. If he's going off to do his own thing with no intention of returning to the show, I'm sure he'll fall flat on his face. We all know what a success Jackie was post-Howard. Artie definitely has more talent, but Stern show fans are loyal and vengeful, and I'd have a hard time supporting him if he abandoned the show.
I've been listening for well over 20 years, and I can barely stand to listen to replays of the shows from the Martling years.
I've got three subscriptions to Sirius. If Artie leaves, I'll probably keep listening, especially if they get Craig Fitzsimmons (SP?) to fill in, but if they drag Jackie Martling's raggedy old (HINEY...I can't believe they censor the word AS$) back in there, I'm GONE! It's annoying enough that they gave him his own show...but to even suggest that he could fill the ARTIE CHAIR is ridiculous.

Artie hasn't been happy for a while. He hated the hours and couldn't keep up with that and his gigs but respected Howard. So I think he was trying to get fired! I hope he doesn't leave the show but he seriously needs help and like Bababuey said - what happens when or if he blasts on a guest?? What then??

artie isnt going to leave if you are burnt out leave now and fix urself and come back in jan. howard wont have a problem getting someone in that chair weekly. artie say things that he dont mean without thinking bout it when they return he will say hes not leavin and he was going thru somethings. but that fight between him and howard ws the best thing this year 1 hr of a slug fest. with hurtful words lmao great.

He's leaving the show in January...on leave though. It could be from the fight earlier that Thursday on the show, but with Artie's mother calling, his gaining of weight and overall hard lifestyle, he's claiming to be burnt out and I do agree with him. He says he'll be back in 6 months but hopefully nothing bad happens during that time.

Possible. Studdering John left and how interesting never studders on the Tonight Show.

He does do movies and stand up and could be his time to cash in.
