I'll never figure that one out. They were (and still are) so popular all around the world. Dani Klein (the singer) has the most brilliant voice in history of music. Why have most Americans never heard of them? I mean, their songs (just to name a few: What's a woman, Just a friend of mine, Don't cry for Louie, Nah neh nah, At the parallel) they go under one's skin, they are classics!!! Please, someone from the US answer this question as well. Thanx!

Ok, so they are NOT Mexicans, they sing in English, and have released only three or four songs in Spanish. They were the most popular band in Europe in the late eighties and throughout the nineties. You should listen to their songs at youtube. At least the songs I mentioned in my question,

They are not mexican, they are European, their music is not mexican, they sing European style music!
They are not popular here in the states, because the majority of the people over here do not know what real music is!
Also, there are a hundred of bands from all over the world that are just as good as "vaja con dios", but you have to be "super" good for the u.s. to notice them!
Personally, there are excellent singers in every field of music there is!

It has a very beautiful melody, but so does a lot of other songs. They can't all be as popular is a foreign country as they are in the country they were designed for.
Also, religious songs aren't for everybody.
