End the frivolous war

2007-05-25 08:39:07 · answer #1 · answered by rp 4 · 2 0

If the Democrats had some courage, they would have included a phased roll back of the Bush tax cuts in the war funding bill.

If we were dealing with a short war, it might be reasonable to spread the cost over a period of years - but this war has lasted more than 4 years with no end in sight. The cost of the war is now approaching 1 billion dollars per day. It is irresponsible and immoral to assume without discussion that the entire cost of this war should be passed on to the next generation in the form of deficit sending.

The next time Bush wants money for his war, I would like to see the funding paid for on a pay as you go basis. - For every month the war lasts - another tax cut would be rolled back. - Doing things this way would make the Democrats' idea of a timetable for withdrawal look a lot better to the Bush supporters who benefited most from his tax cuts.

I wonder if Bush would veto such a bill.

Knowing there's no term for Bush Administration and his party... the maximum damage will be done and next president will be facing the consequences, so next 4 years later, American will turn into Republic party again... 4 years is easy to realise what a mess next president would have been.. so American turns to new Republic party??... Master plan for 11 years old maximum.... but mark my words.. next 5 years..it will just be the same.

Bush will just follow what he always dreamt of, create a history that's never been done... how stupid he was and he will be...until the end of his time.. but history will go down along with him..

if you even start a campaign against Bush administration, you still have time to win....
Just go against whatever Bush has done in past 7 years, you have winning votes...

Thank goodness they are funding our soldiers. Anything other than that would be a disaster for our men and women and to the millions of Iraqi's that voted for democracy. The additional troops aren't even there yet for the surge and they need time to allow the plan to work.

The only plan I have seen from the democrats is a plan for defeat, not a plan for success.

I am sorry to say the Democrats wimped out just so they could get there agenda approved, and it is to bad it seems like no one in Washington really cares about all the boys and girls that are fighting some one else civil war.

Our military needs to do what it was sent there to do. The US is a buffer between groups which would destroy much in our world.

I support the cause and most certainly back our troops!

Iraq doesn't need or desire to be a terrorist country, neither does Lebanon.

Your right . What was I thinking. We should just pull out of Iraq and let those Iraqis fend for themselves. Who are we to defend the future of our own country. I can't believe we even have a military. We should just mind our own business. Who cares about anyone else in the world.

What would be the option since they will still be there for a while? It would be a disaster to have a pull out now. The terrorist's next stop would be Main Street USA! Do you want to cut off funding totally?

About time they funded our troops... Whats with the $10 million dollars in pork the Dem's added... Did the Democrats hold out on troop funding just so they could benefit at the troops expense.....Looks like it.

Thinking is presently illegal in the United States. So is any genuine concern for personal religiosity.
