There could be any number of ways. Ideally, they'll have worked out the mechanics of writing together before they begin.
For instance, they could brainstorm together, plot out an outline and each take different scenes and write them. They could then exchange the written scenes to edit each other's work and keep the voice and tone consistent.
Or they could divide it by characters. One writer takes a character and writes all the scenes from that character's point of view. The other takes another character, and so on. This is how Jennifer Crusie and Bob Mayer write their collaborative books.
As someone who just escaped a doomed collaboration, I can tell you that writing with a partner won't work unless you are both of like minds and writing styles and you hash out the details of HOW you'll write before beginning the story. Ideally, you should know each other really well. I do not recommend collaborating with a stranger or acquaintance, or, in my case, a neighbor/friend.
We're not speaking now.

Easy,Someone comes up with the primary idea for the book and decides he wants collaborators so he invites one or more other authors. They would brainstorm his initial idea and develop it,each contributing something until they are all satisfied with the story. Then they decide how the story should unfold in chapters. As it`s never easy to write everything together, each of them writes a particular event or even chapter.I know of three authors who did this. Each had to write a separate chapter. They all had a vague story idea which was broken into about twenty chapters. Each of them wrote a minimum of six chapters. One wrote 1 another 2 and the third 3 in alternate style. Each took the story where he liked and the next simply picked up the thread from there and did his own thing none departing from the basic idea. The end was unknown to all three until it was written. They then reviewed the whole manuscript, refining it and ensuring everything worked before publishing.

For two or more authors to write a single book is a difficult task, if both of them write.
Sometimes they may write different sections of the same book depending upon their individual capacities.
Sometimes one may write and the other do the research as happens in various biographies and science books. You know everyone cannt write!
Or with coordination and cooperation they may sit together and get along together. As is the most likely case with Guptara Twins..

Usually, one writes the book and the other kind of reviews it and revises it, then the original author approves or rejects the revisions. It's a lengthy process.

There is no one way. Sometimes they do chapters- sometimes one does research and the other writes, etc....
