Get your cards and music back.

May God bless you for your desire to adhere to what you read in Psalms. If you were only getting rid of the music and cards because you thought others thought they were "evil" (some man-made list of no-no's), then you might have missed the point of the scripture. However, if you saw your music and cards as true evil (that they were distracting you from your love for God and/or for those around you), then you were absolutely right to remove them from your life.

And that hurts. As we draw closer to God we often rip away the things that were holding us back. And that ripping hurts! But the pain is because of your dependency on these other things, not because God is punishing you for removing these things from your life. Pray to God for the strength to get through this pain and look forward to an eternity of peace in Christ.

I used to play video games. I used to love to play video games. When I came to the point of considering whether these video games were evil, I realized that my LOVE for these video games was evil. It was pulling me away from the love I felt for God, my family and my friends.

Simply telling myself that I would not play games anymore was not enough. I would tell myself that I'll just play for a few minutes, then hours would go by. To remove the temptation completely, one day I destroyed my X-Box (in hindsight, giving it to charity would have been a better approach).

It hurt a lot at first, then that pain faded as it was replaced with the love I was now able to experience. That was about a year ago and last week my wife asked if I would like if we got a new game system. Without any regret, I declined the offer. I appreciate the time that I'm no longer "gone" while playing.

I pray that you are able to discern the reason that you got rid of your music and cards. If it was truly to remove a roadblock between you and the love God wants you to have for him and all those around you, be confident that you did the right thing and the pain will pass as you continue to focus on God. If the reason was made because someone told you the "that kind of music is evil" or "those cards are evil", then I pray that you find in this experience that it is not the OBJECT that is evil - it is the LOVE FOR THINGS that pull you away from God that is evil.

I pray that your pain is taken away by the love God intends you to share. May God bless you.

Love the sinner but hate the sin. Scripture. If you will go ahead and get your cards and music back you will be happy. I believe that if they dont cause you to sin then you are fine. Psalms is in the Old Testament. The Old Testament is history. They were saved by law. The New Testament was written after Christ died for our sins. There fore you are saved by Grace rather than law. Enjoy and keep the faith. God bless you.

First of all I go to church every Sunday and I believe in God and love God and all that...but I still listen to the music I want to and do the things I want to. As long as it's legal i do it...that doesn't mean that I don't believe. You choose how you wish to live your life. you can live it by the bible word for word...or have a little fun and still live by it to a certain extent...or whatever. Only you can really answer this question

God wants you to be happy. Go get your cards and music back and be happy. If they make you happy, that's what's important. Not that someone thinks what you like offends God. What offends God is people not having faith, not their choice of music or Pokemon cards.

relax...replace your music with christian music: kirk franklin, fred hammond, donnie mcclurkin and get something new to replace pokemon

it'll be OK. have you talked to your parents yet? or other christian kids in your church?

Love was not in your CDs or pokemon. Not that they were bad in themselves, but if God led you to get rid of them, that's what's best.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but what you are experiencing is God flattening your brain. This being the case, I wouldn't worry about it because once its completely flat you'll feel a lot better. Amen.
