according to tradition once the romans destroyed the temple it was moved and hidden in the desert such as the Qumran scrolls. There are many who think that God took it back up at the tearing of the curtain that seperates the holy place from the most holy place.
the ark of the covenant is a box that moses received the design for from God and it held symbols of the Jewish Faith. It held the budded rod, the mana and the tablets from mt. Sinai that moses brought down. It was put in the most holy place and was used as the seat of power by the Spirit of the Most High God. If you touched it you would die. The jewish faith had a certain way they had to carry it or else punishment.
there is much more to learn about it but I do not want to take to much space here

The ark of the covenant is a special container (box) built by the Israelites according to instructions they received from J*h*v*h. (See the Book of the Exodus, Chapter 25) (source below.) There were several items of ceremonial importance placed inside.
The ark has been lost. No one who knows where it is is telling. One theory is that it is in catacombs beneath Jerusalem, perhaps even under the hill Golgotha.

The ark is the container that was built to contain the tablets of the 10 commandments, Aaron's staff which had budded, and a jar of manna.
It is said it was hidden when the Romans invaded Jerusalem and destroyed the temple. Someone may know where it is, or it may have been lost to knowledge. I'm sure God knows where it is, though.

The arc is a large chest (similar to the Indiana Jones movie) that supposably carried the origional ten commandment plaques Moses recieved from the finger of God. The arc's location is still a mystery today. Some say it's in a tomb buried beneath hundreds of feet of sand, and others claim God took it away from humans, desentigrated it, destroyed it, because his very spirit was in the arc with the plaques.
Either way, noone will ever find it. It could possibly be another myth.
