I have never ever heard of this ,but several questions people have asked has led me to believe there is actually some law. I thought the state of California was thinking about it for children 3 and under.(But never got passed) But I didn't think the government could actually get involved with parenting. So can someone tell me if this is a law...

I didn't ask was there a way to discipline your kids without spanking. I asked was there a law against spanking. Stick to the question ...thanks...and FYI I don't spank my son.

no, there isn't a law against spanking your kids but there is one against beating them. So many people don't know the difference between the two. If you spank your kids you do it on the butt, leg, or hand. And you do it with moderation. Not hard enough to leave a bruse. You do it with your hand, a belt, or a paddle. I don't think there is anything wrong with spanking, and matter fact to go a step further I think kids these days need lots more of it. Kids now are so disrespectful, and rude to each other, and even worse to adults. If the parents would put a belt on there butts they would get a much better response out of this generation of out of control kids. Don't beat your kids, just spank them to teach them respect, honor, and loyalty. So, no there isn't a law yet against spanking your kids, but if something doesn't change in this society soon there will be.

No, it's not illegal to spank in any US state. Most people saying it's illegal are pro-spankers who are just really desperate to prove their argument that kids today are bad because they don't get spanked. So they claim it's illegal and that their parents will be thrown in jail for spanking them, but I can assure you that's not true.

There is so such law, this became popular when California was trying to push a bill prohibiting parents from spanking children under the age of 4. That is definitely not happening in New York or any other states in the US.

It is possible to discipline your children without spanking them. I am unaware of an actual law.

All a kid has to do is tell a teacher that they got spanked. The CPS will come in. I believe the "rule" is you just can't leave a mark.

The social worker said you can spank as long as you don't leave any marks and you use an open hand ... oh yeah and no objects either ( belt, whip, paddle ...etc ) ... !
