Sending weapons? yeah, that always solves the problem.

If you are seriously concerned about the role of the US in Lebanon, I suggest you read 3 sources. They have worked well for me and i don;t know of better sources:
Counterpunch.com (all this week there have been daily articles on Lebanon from the most important journalist in the field: Robert Fisk)
Democracynow.org (Always a reliable source, this week they had an interview with a journalist from Lebanon)
English.Aljazeera.net (good reporting, always on the mark)

The buts and pieces that i have picked up are telling. Fatah Al Islam was formed by the government to counter Hizbullah's growing power. It is made up of Syrians, Saudis, Lebanese but no Palestinians. In fact, the people in the camp say that Fatah (the new and twisted Fatah) does not interact with the population of the camp, "they just pray and do military exercises". Since Fatah Al Islam is not in the terrorist list, it is ellegible for US aid.
It seems that the Lebanese government became worried about their ties with Fatah and stopped funding them. So that they saw themselves forced to rob a bank and sequestered into the camp.
Palestinians, while better treated in Lebanon than anywhere else, do not have many rights. They have been in exile since 1948, when the Israeli army cleared historic Palestine of most of its arab inhabitants in what is often described as ethnic cleansing.

The number one priority of the US government and the Siniora regime is to annihilate the militant group so that the ties will not be revealed. Therefore avoiding the embarrassing explanation of why the US and Lebanon are supporting the state that exiled half a million people out of their homes by sponsoring terrorist organizations.

I hope this was useful. If you want to stop this madness, contact your representative. Go out to the streets and protest.
Peace.

When will our government get their heads out of
their a++++. The U.S. claims that Syria is arming
the Palistenians, and so what do they do , they go
and arm Lebanan. I sure hope that the United
States is ready to defend itself because they keep
sticking their nose in other peoples business and
then put our soldiers on the front lines, because
they did not mind their own business in the first
place. Having served in the military for 22yrs de-
fending the freedom of the United States, and for
them to be so selfish as to keep starting trouble
with other countries makes me wonder, just what
does the U.S. want , to rule the world, never
happen.
