I'm a little confused, what do you need help with? You might want to include your personal experience in the project, and explain how running away can have consequences for other people as well. Good luck!

Project: Use resources from the Library, magazines and the web.
Why do 'they' run away? To escape a situation that appears unsolvable. Most situations involve fear of one kind or another: Fear of a parent hurting them physically, fear of failing, fear of not being liked, fear of abandonment,
all kinds of fears.
A teen feels incapable of finding a good solution (and often does not look in good places to talk to someone who COULD help - teachers, pastors, relatives, or whatever), and so runs away (often into worse situations, mind you!)
My son was a runaway, but after 4 or so years, he turned himself around (22 ish) and went into rehab. Now, many years later, he has a steady good job and a wife. Life taught him many lessons that he is using today. But it was painful for all of us.
