I have finally worked out how Fox News works.
Fair:
Give people like Coulter, Bernard Greenberg, Dick Morris, Michelle Malkin, Gingrich, et al, ALL the time necessary to say whatever they want. Pretty 'fair', isn't it?

Balanced:
Get some Liberal or Democrat on their shows, but interrupt them all the time, and then apologise with the famous quote: 'Sorry, we have run out of time'. (Hannity and O'Reilly have got this down to a fine art.) Quite 'balanced', not so?

'Fair and Balanced' indeed!
The Republican/Conservative interpretation of the concept?

Bill O'Reilly has a segment called "The Final Word". He typically gives the guest the last half minute to say whatever they want. Mr. O'Reilly has often shown amazing patience while the guest spouted absolute nonsense. He has had on people who were close to delusional and he kept his mouth shut. He has had on pampered rappers and other people of dubious talent, but he treated them with so much respect and dignity I was truly amazed.

(of course, Bill has a notorious temper, and when it flies, watch out...... Geraldo!)

What about Hannity & Colmes? Alan Colmes makes sure the guest has the time he needs to say what he wants. If you don't agree, blame Colmes for not holding up his half of the show, but the show is structed very evenly.

Now, compare it with your mainstream media. On a typical tv "news" show, the footage will be cleverly edited to make a Conservative look foolish. Key sentences will be removed to trick the public into believing the guest said something he did not. I remember seeing a story about 60-Minutes: it showed how the interviewers re-recorded their questions after the fact to make themselves sound more intelligent, and edited out key elements from what the guest said to portray his answer in a negative light. Michael Moore does this all the time. He is absolutely shameless. For example, the soldier he interviews in Fahrenheit 9-11 is furious at Moore. The soldier supports our conflict in the Middle East and is proud of his service. Moore edited out practically everything he said to make him sound bitter.

Fair and Balanced? It's only on Fox News.
That will be 10 points, please.

operating contained in the geo-political/protection rigidity organization, I have get admission to to particular practise that doesn't get released publicly. Having typed that, no information crew receives it ideal each and each of the time. The worst is, with the help of a ways, CNN. Ted Turner and his socialist regime have lengthy gone way off the deep end right here. Fox information tried to counter that with a more advantageous ideal wing attitude; yet calling themselves honest and balanced isn't precisely actual. i imagine human beings provide Fox a confusing time because they're so used to seeing an truly left media that once one swings out to the right it really is a wide shift. one element that sways my opinion is that CNN could have one man or woman on there telling you what to imagine the position Fox could have a representative from the left and the right debating the problem for you so that you'll settle on. both way, take each little thing you study and watch with a grain of salt and don't be like those celebrities that in basic terms repeat what they listen on CNN as their personal own opinion.

I think any discussion of Fox News belongs in another forum....like entertainment or mythology. They have nothing to do with journalism. You've described them perfectly.
