If I were to win the auction, would I be responsible for paying all liens currently on the house? Would I just do that by contacting the party owed and paying them?

The lender has already done a title search and when they sell a foreclosure they will convey to you a clean title. They pay any outstanding taxes and leins. Now they do not provide a survey so you might want to spend some $$$ and get that done.

You can ask a title company to do the lean search for you. In fact that is one of the documents that you will need for closing.
