We are instinctively afraid of the unknown. Death is only a door to our eternal life, to a different kind of life that we don’t know much about And I guess this is why people are afraid of death. About being afraid of death, I must say I agree with what Disciple said. We shouldn’t be afraid and we should try to give the best in ourselves to prepare our eternal life.

Death might be certain but what it is and what it means to us is not. We see life around us and are comforted by that. Death is an unknown to us and with the unknown sometimes comes fear.
There is only one that has come back from death to give a report and most don't believe him.

"How is it you've come to the conclusion, that life is "not certain ?" Life is very, certainly your opportunity to prepare for "death."

That seems to be the one, consistent ideal that the majority of the populace ,totally misses. When you wake each day, your concerns should not be directed toward anything that distracts you from focusing on your death,(or, in other words, your eternity),which in fact,...is your ultimate " Life."
Personally, I do not fear "death," I have been,( and continue to be "involved"), in training/preparation for that reward.
Anything less than that,is a frivilous waste of time.

Death takes everything we know away from us, and promises nothing in return.

I try not to fear death, because it would keep me up at night, and focus on enjoying life instead. I think I will die happier if I have lived each day to full capacity.

Hope this helps, and have a great day! :)

Because we know more about what happens in life than what happens in death.
