This was one of the most bone-headed things Bush ever suggested. I remember when it happened, there was unbelievable protest from both sides of the aisle. I know it cemented my already emerging belief that Bush doesn't have both oars in the water when it comes to protecting the United States.

I made the same mistake a while back by confusing The United Arab Emirates with Saudi Arabia. Even though they are two different countries, I still have a bad feeling about any middle eastern country in charge of our port security. I also wouldn't want the Russians doing it either. Maybe our long term allies like Canada or England. But this is such a huge security issue why doesn't Homeland Security take care of it?

Do you mean the same ones in which where the hijackers came from? All these bushbots tend to always forget this one. Then when they do answer they like to point out that they have been ran by foreign companies (based out of England) for years. The mere fact that he even came up with this dumb of an idea was the last straw out of the two I had gave him when he became President.. (first was gone when his brother rigged Florida for him)... I cannont understand why anyone that was pushing so hard for us to fear the middle east and the terrorists would even dream of coming up with this idea. Just goes to show how dumb the man really is...honestly. The answer to the question is money..that is why he wanted to do it...money.

Don't you know that his family has been long time buds with the Saudi's? After 9/11 all air traffic was grounded except for the Saudi princes and their families trying to get out of the country with Bush's permission.

Wait aren't you Libs for the Muslims and aren't you the ones who say that all Muslims aren't terrorists? Now you are upset that Bush was going to sell some ports to Dubai??? So are you against or for Arabs?
Besides, Bush is also working side by side with the Iraq government to ensure they get a democracy... So just because Dubai is an Arab country doesn't mean that Bush hates them and wants to kill them all... You have a distorted view of Our President because of the Liberal Media.

You have to remember that his family has long standing ties to the oil industry. We may view these people as a threat, but dubyah and his kin view them as dinner guests.
